My Approach

My approach to clinical supervision is grounded in a commitment to fostering professional growth, clinical excellence, and ethical practice. I invite ALL therapists and therapeutic approaches into clinical supervision. I strive to create a supportive and structured environment that promotes both skill development and self-reflection.

Key elements of my supervision approach include:

  • Accessibility and a Trusting, Supportive Relationship: I cultivate a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where supervisees feel comfortable exploring clinical challenges, uncertainties, and areas of vulnerability.
  • Effective Communication and Active Listening: I provide clear, constructive feedback while engaging in collaborative dialogue to ensure a thorough understanding of the supervisee’s perspective.
  • Clinical Competence and Expertise: I maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, therapeutic modalities, and ethical standards to support high-quality clinical care.
  • Balanced Feedback (Support and Challenge): I offer validation and encouragement while also promoting growth by thoughtfully challenging supervisees to expand their clinical skills and professional insight.
  • Professional Role Modeling: I demonstrate ethical practice, self-awareness, and professionalism, serving as a model for clinical integrity and reflective practice.
  • Commitment to Ongoing Growth: I encourage lifelong learning, self-care, and continued professional development to sustain both competence and well-being.

About Me

Supervision Qualifications

My name is Kim. For over 20 years in mental and behavioral health, and currently retired from private practice as trauma focused licensed therapist, I have however worked with all manner of trauma. And in many diverse settings. I hold certifications in trauma and consider the area of neurophysiology of trauma one of my areas of expertise.

What I now offer is relational and leadership consulting, clinical supervision, employee relations training, brain health, ADHD coaching and pastoral care for emotional, and spiritual issues that may arise. This simply now means that while I have the experience to offer mental health treatment, I will not be offering any diagnosis, but am happy to provide referrals and resources should you  need a higher level of care.
